The Roald Dahl Story Company's annual festive gift presents an unpublished alternate ending to The Witches. Produced as a limited edition of 360 copies, the book and gift card are housed within a bespoke envelope, featuring foil blocked illustrations by Quentin Blake.

Create the annual festive gift for The Roald Dahl Story Company, produced for key contacts, stakeholders and collaborators.
The limited edition of 360 copies presents an unpublished alternate ending to The Witches.

I led the design of the edition, developing the creative, specifying materials and finishes, and working closely with production through to final delivery.

The design draws from the world of The Witches, using a limited palette of gold, cream and green inspired by the formidable Formula 86 Delayed Action Mouse Maker.
Quentin Blake's illustrations are foil blocked onto the book and envelope, with colour matched string adding a playful detail that reflects Dahl's storytelling.
The book and translucent gift card sit flush within the envelope, creating a simple yet considered reveal. The gift card copy was written to accompany the edition, alongside an introduction by Roald Dahl's biographer, Donald Sturrock.

The finished edition transforms an unpublished piece of The Witches into a collectible, combining illustration, material choices and playful details to reflect the spirit of Roald Dahl's writing.
