I SURVIVED THE ENORMOUS CROCODILE!

Merchandise and Limited Edition for Roald Dahl’s The Enormous Crocodile Musical

The Roald Dahl Story Company developed and co-produced a new musical of The Enormous Crocodile. The brief was to create affordable, high quality products grounded in the storytelling world of the show. It should be something special that celebrates young children’s first experience of the theatre, so the magic stays with them.

We created merchandise, plus a limited edition version for the cast & crew. I created a minimal, playful look for children, slightly adapted in the gift for grown-ups. Embroidered patches & enamel pins were chosen to reflect the show’s Jungle Juniors & their costumes, incorporating the fun of the story in both concept & colour. The gifts received praise & the merchandise sold out at the venue, The Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.

I sketched character & layout options, then finalised in Illustrator, considering how it would translate into enamel & embroidery. I collaborated with Emily Bridge who designed the gift packaging, which had puppet-inspired patterns & a tent card, echoing the set.
